So you’re getting a new puppy — Congratulations! This is an exciting news!!!
We put together a quick list below that cover some essentials that were helpful for us as we welcome Tyga to our family. You can find the exact product we use linked below too.
- Basic Essentials
- Name tags
- Adjustable collar
- Leash
- Food and Water Bowls
- We love Yeti bowls as these keeps the water at a cool temperature and also durable. You can select between small or large bowl. Yeti bowls are quite pricey though, here is a link to the the more affordable alternative.
- Dog food
- We are by no means expert but we had been feeding Taste of the Wild Ancient Grain dog food mixed with raw feeding. Tyga’s diets are posted here.
- Exercise pen
- You can select as many or as little panels as you see fit, personally we only use these exercise pens when Tyga was a puppy.
- Dog Crate with divider (highly recommend to start crate training from day one — rule of thumb is to never punish dog by telling them to go in the crate. Crate should be a safe place for the pup)
- Training
- Dog treats / Chews
- i.e. Raw-hide free bully sticks help remove tartar, reduce bacteria on teeth and promote strong jaw muscles.
- Chew / Puzzle toys (be sure to supervise playing in case the toy gets destroyed)
- Interactive toys stimulate and challenge your dog incorporating problem-solving skills into his daily routine. They also keep your dog busy for hours!
- Dog treats / Chews
- Daily Walks
- Poop bags and holder
- Dog booties (helps prevent paws from getting cut and from getting burns or frostbite — would be great to let the pup accustomed to booties at young age! For reference, Tyga’s sizing is 2.5 in.)
- Harness
- Grooming
- Dog toothpaste
- Dog toothbrush
- Dog shampoo
- Grooming wipes
- Pin Brush
- Comb
- Blower/Dryer
- We splurged and got a K9 dryer and it made drying a samoyed so much easier! Here is a cheaper alternative (we haven’t personally use this but have heard good thing)
This is by no means an exhaustive list — we will plan to add more to the list as we think of anything else. As always, if you have any questions feel free to DM us! We will try our best to get to all the DMs.
